Launched in 2020, the AAG’s Department Leadership Webinar Series is intended for new and established Department Chairs, Program Heads, new Deans, and other early-to-mid-career leaders in Geography, Environmental and Earth Sciences, as well as related disciplines or interdisciplinary programs featuring a spatial focus.
The goal of the series is for leaders to develop the tools necessary to build and grow strong academic programs and achieve success in the execution of their roles, to network with others in similar roles around the nation and globe, and to build the confidence and self-awareness that effective leaders leverage to create alignment, joy and success in their professional world.
Along with our sister series on Early Careers, the Department Leadership series is organized by the AAG in partnership with past president Ken Foote of the University of Connecticut and Shannon O’Lear of the University of Kansas.
Dates, times and registration links for upcoming webinars will be added to this page as soon as they are available. View the list of upcoming and previously recorded webinars below and be sure to check back regularly for the latest updates. To suggest new topics, please email Ken Foote at the University of Connecticut (ken.foote@uconn.edu) and Shannon O’Lear at the University of Kansas (olear@ku.edu).
