Raul Gonzalez Interns at AAG for Fall Semester

Raúl González enlisted in the Marine Corps shortly after graduating high school. He was stationed in Japan for two years before returning stateside to North Carolina. After earning his associate degree and receiving an honorable discharge, he moved to the metro Washington, D.C. area to pursue his bachelor’s degree. He currently attends the George Washington University as a second-year undergraduate student majoring in geography. In his studies, he is interested in researching sustainable practices as well as the growing disparity associated with economic inequality and how it impacts society and the environment.

During his time with the AAG, Raúl intends to develop and implement a plan to further promote the Guide to Geography Programs in the Americas to serve as a tool for prospective geography students at the undergraduate level.

During his off time, Raúl enjoys long-distance running and can often be spotted around the Mall.
