AAG welcomes summer 2023 interns

Two new interns have joined the AAG staff this summer! The AAG would like to welcome Noah and Annie to the organization.

Photo of Noah GlasserNoah Glasser is a senior at DePaul University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in geography with a concentration in urban planning. He loves to travel and has done a GIS-focused study abroad in the Dominican Republic where he taught high school students to map their communities. He plans on getting a master’s degree in Urban Planning at some point after graduation.

Photo of Annie LiuAnnie Liu (she/they) graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville (UTK) in Fall of 2022 with a B.A. in global studies and geography. They were born in Illinois, but lived in Laramie, Wyoming, for most of her life and currently lives in Knoxville, Tennessee. They are interested in sustainable urbanism, public transportation, housing justice, and sustainable tourism. She is pursuing a M.S. in geography from UTK starting in the fall and hopes to structure her thesis around her multitude of interests. During their time at UTK as an undergrad, they were a leader in Students for Migrant Justice (@utk_smj), a student organization dedicated to educating and organizing the public around immigration justice issues in Knoxville. They were also an undergraduate researcher for multiple departments and professors, granted a Critical Language Scholarship for Portuguese in 2021, and interned for Child Care Aware of America and Esri. In their free time, she enjoys hunting for airfare deals to Latin American countries, attempting to continue Portuguese studies on Duolingo, playing with her brand new kittens and her dog Jade, and reading cheesy romance novels. Their favorite place in the world is Suzhou, China where she spent a lot of her childhood being raised by their aunt and uncle.

If you or someone you know is interested in applying for an internship at the AAG, the AAG seeks interns on a year-round basis for the spring, summer, and fall semesters.
