GUATEMALA

Mayra Lisseth Maldonado Montufar
Biology, University of El Valle de Guatemala

Mentor: Enio B. Cano
Guatemalan Natural Museum of History

Objective: Along with other national institutional partners, this project aims to integrate a large amount of existing biological diversity data into a national digital dynamic geospatial framework, whose basis is the change in forest cover for evaluating populations of mammals, amphibians, reptiles, insects and orchids.  In particular, the work of this student will facilitate understanding the impact of natural hazards on ecosystem dynamics within this model.
