Association of American Geographers
The
Association of American Geographers (AAG) was founded in 1904 and is headquartered in Washington, D.C. The AAG collaborates with international academic organizations, government and nonprofit agencies, and private firms to further the advancement of geographic research, education, understanding, and applications. It supports the publication of scholarly studies and undertakes research and educational programs that help provide geographic solutions to the needs of society and the world.
ESRI
ESRI develops geographic information system (GIS) software for all types of organizations ranging from educational institutions to government agencies to multinational corporations. ESRI is providing software, data, hardware, Web resources, and administrative support for the program.
National Geographic Society
The Society's mission is to increase and diffuse geographic knowledge. The Society is providing administrative support and Web resources for the program.
United Nations Environment Programme
The mission of UNEP is to provide leadership and encourage partnerships in caring for the environment by inspiring, informing, and enabling nations and peoples to improve their quality of life without compromising that of future generations. UNEP will provide educational resources for the program.
