Who We Are, Where We Are, and How We Live

Geographic focus: Argentina / Bahia Blanca

Date completed: 2002

A team of students from the city of Bahia Blanca, Argentina, gathered data from interviews as well as print sources and the internet to help them identify urban zones characterized by inhabitants with very low standards of living. They then used GIS technologies to create a series of maps to organize and analyze their data. They recommended that the city government create recreational areas in these impoverished zones of and that it do more to extend water and electricity services to needy residents.
