Young people around the world
are making a difference in their communities and for the earth

2...using geographic tools and concepts to address local issues of sustainable development. Examine and learn more about environmental issues in your neighborhood, village, city, or nation.  Determine what patterns and trends impact your area and what this means for the planet.  Discover solutions to challenges by thinking spatially.

How can I participate?
Explore our current activities. Or look at what other young people have done as a model for your own community project. Then submit your own project to our gallery. Free online learning resources are available for you to conduct your own community project or simply learn more about geographic concepts, geographic tools, and sustainable development.

Changing the way we see our world
Through these activities, the program also provides an opportunity for policy makers, professionals, and the public to learn innovative ways to address local issues of sustainability. Youth-led MyCOE projects can offer local, regional, and national environmental decisionmakers new perspectives about real issues confronting society.
