Method:
During the two Geospatial
Workforce Roundtable Events , participants identified a set of academic
programs critical to the continuous education and training of the current
a future geospatial workforce. Based upon the input, thirteen (13) general
groupings of academic programs are identifidd from the National Center for
Educational Statistics
(NCES) database. This database provides annaul completion data for
numerous academic programs. The general groupings of academic programs are:
- Agriculture-agriculture operations-and related sciences
- Architecture and related services
- Biological and biomedical sciences
- Computer and information sciences and support services
- Engineering
- Engineering technologies/technicians
- Mathematics and statistics
- Military technologies
- Natural resources and conservation
- Physical sciences
- Science technologies/technicians
- Social sciences
- Transportation and materials moving
