Qualitative GIS

A special symposium will examine Qualitative GIS as both practice and method while addressing the ontological, epistemological and methodological challenges in conducting geographical research with Qualitative GIS. These eight sessions will also offer the opportunity to reinforce and develop international networks of like-minded researchers in order to identify potential avenues of collaboration. The unfolding debate will be summarized and addressed in an opening plenary and closing round table which will also identify future opportunities for development of the approach.

The opening plenary will be held at 12:40 p.m. on Friday, February 24 (session 1446) and the final roundtable discussion (session 2646) is scheduled for Saturday, February 25 at 4:40 p.m. All eight symposium sessions will be held in the Sheraton Hotel, conference room D, lower level.
