
PAIGH USNS Meet-and Greet

A group of officials and national representatives of various specialized organizations of the Organization of American States gathered recently to broaden understanding of various institutional initiatives, to consider priorities affecting the hemisphere, and to strengthen collaboration among the respective interests of the specialized organizations of the OAS.
The United States National Section of the PanAmerican Institute for Geography and History (USNS-PAIGH) held this Meet-and-Greet event during the Annual Meeting of the Association of American Geographers (AAG) in Washington, DC on Friday, April 16, 2010. Among the attendees were representatives of the Geography, Cartography, and History commissions of PAIGH as well as special guests from sister specialized organizations of OAS, namely, the InterAmerican Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), the PanAmerican Health Organization (PAHO), and the Inter-American Commission of Women (CIM). The event was hosted by the AAG and the US National Section Geography Commission during the world’s largest academic and scientific disciplinary conference, attended by an estimated 8,200 scholars and practitioners from more than 75 countries.
