In this interview for PhDs.org, Thomas Loder discusses many aspects of life as a graduate student in geography, including choosing a program, the application process, funding, and work-life balance. "I prepared myself for graduate school by making sure my academic background reflected how serious I was about pursuing geography at the graduate level," he explains. Thomas's thesis research explores Cow Power, a cooperative program in Vermont that generates electricity using methane biogas extracted from cow manure.
