New GIS certificate and degree programs geared toward preparing students for employment

Despite recent funding cuts for public higher education, new GIS certificate and degree programs continue to proliferate among technical schools and community colleges, according to a recent Directions Magazine article. Because the mission of these schools is tied to employment, online GIS degrees and certificates can quickly give students the skills needed to compete in the job market.
