UN Special Rapporteur on Rights of Indigenous Peoples concludes visit to US

With the United States' endorsement of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in 2010, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, James Anaya, conducted his first official visit to the US earlier this year. In a statement to the UN, Dr. Anaya indicated that his report and recommendations on the situation of indigenous peoples in the United States will be presented as early as September 2012.
