Spotlight profile: National Geographic announces 2012 Emerging Explorers
May 16, 2012
Each year, National Geographic's Emerging Explorers Program recognizes and supports a handful of gifted and inspiring young trailblazers who are already making an impact early in their careers. This year's class includes a cyborg anthropologist, a pilot, a digital storyteller and zoologist, a crisis mapper, and a "guerrilla geographer." In all, National Geographic will award 15 young explorers with $10,000 each for research and exploration.
