Project Description: Students, Parents and Staff unveiled our new Greenhouse where plant/soil science experiments will take place and produce will be grown and donated to local homeless shelters. Students are collecting food scraps in the cafeteria to compost for the soil we use, and are collecting rainwater to water the plants.
Environmental projects that students have been working on all school year were showcased along the Greenway from Andrews High to Welborn Middle to Montlieu Elementary schools, and all participants were able to spend time walking the Greenway that links the schools.
They also cleaned up the campus, weeded overgrown flower beds, planted annuals and perrenials and mulched the beds. Some painted flowerboxes, picnic tables and benches.
