The AAG keeps in touch with members through the Newsletter. It is an invaluable source of information about the discipline and the activities of the Association. It switched from print to digital format in January 2013.

Each issue features a short article by the current AAG President, which may be reflective, informative or even a call to action. Look at past President’s Columns.

There are announcements and updates about the next Annual Meeting, as well as articles about the geography of the host city.

The Newsletter also contains announcements of upcoming events and funding opportunities, policy updates, member notices including department news and obituaries, and information about the latest geography publications.

Between 2002 and 2012, the AAG Executive Director wrote a column for the Newsletter called “From the Meridian” with information about developments in the discipline and Association activities. See the collection of “From the Meridian” columns.

Between 2004 and 2012, the AAG’s Senior Program Manager for Government Relations, John Wertman, kept the Association up to date about political news and policy developments relating to geography and geography education. Read past Washington Monitor columns.

The Newsletter is sent to subscribing members by email at the beginning of each month. In between members can keep up to date with the latest news via the AAG News webpages.
