#GeoWeek Social Media Ambassadors

This year, we want to transform how people think and talk about geography by putting a special emphasis on civil rights and social justice during #GeoWeek (Geography Awareness Week), from November 12-18, 2017.

We’re calling on you, our friends, colleagues, and networks to join us and get involved! Can we count on you to champion geography as a #GeoWeek social media ambassador?

With your help, we want people to learn how a geographic education can help citizens understand and debate pressing social and environmental issues and problems. We also want them to recognize that civil rights and social justice movements are still important and relevant parts of our lives in 2017.

The successful #GeoWeek social media ambassador shares content by forwarding emails, interacting with AAG social media by liking, sharing, posting, tweeting, retweeting, and using the #GeoWeek hashtag when posting about Geography Awareness Week.

Donations made to the AAG Enhancing Diversity Fund during Geography Awareness Week (Nov. 12-18) will be matched by the AAG! The AAG Enhancing Diversity Fund supports the AAG Enhancing Diversity Award and activities designed to enhance diversity, promote inclusion, and broaden participation in the discipline. The Enhancing Diversity Award honors geographers who have led the way toward encouraging a more diverse discipline over the course of several years. So, we need you to work your social media networks to help spread the word about #GeoWeek.

Below are some tools you can use to support #GeoWeek.
