Analysis of Data Sharing Environment and Major Challenges Currently Being Faced in Data Sharing in Rwanda
Jean Pierre Hitimana, National University of Rwanda

The major challenges that face Rwandan institutions for the moment in data sharing are the following: The institutions are too protective for their data and they hide data to people who are outside of their respective institutions, there is no policy for data distribution. Rwanda experiences data duplication because there is no partnership between data producers. Even if initiatives of creating NSDI are an on-going process the greatest challenge is to deal with administrative questions. This work presents the current data sharing environment and major challenges of data sharing in Rwanda.
