AAG Advancing Geography Funds
By contributing to the Advancing Geography Funds below, you provide crucial support to the next generation of geographers. Your support will help students and early career faculty to meet the challenges of the future. It will help generate new geographic knowledge, strengthen geographic education, increase the involvement and raise the visibility of geography in science and policy making settings, and increase geographic around the world.
The funds below will help the AAG to strengthen academic geography, enhance diversity in the discipline, and offer leadership training, workshops, and forums. It will also support new initiatives to grow the discipline and to secure geography's position as a leader in generating new ideas and knowledge needed to create a sustainable future for our world.
You may choose to designate all or part of your contribution to support any of the following initiatives:
The Richardson Endowment for Geography's Future
This endowment will create a long-term, stable fund that will allow the AAG to advance geography broadly in the years ahead. Interest accrued from the endowment will provide sustained resources that can be used to strengthen academic geography, provide leadership training, and ensure a means for capitalizing on unique opportunities that arise in the future.

Developing Regions Membership Fund
Encourage geographers from and living in developing regions, and with an income of less than $25,000 per year, to become AAG members with full benefits through the Developing Regions Membership Program. Your contribution will help fund the infrastructure and staff needed to support the program. The fund also provides financial grants to qualifying geographers who may not be able to afford the deeply discounted membership rate of $20.

Unemployed & Underemployed Geographer Support Fund
Unemployed or Underemployed geographers who are AAG Members are encouraged to apply for the AAG Conference Assistant opportunity to help offset their meeting registration costs. All applicants must be registered and paid for the meeting, to be chosen as a conference volunteer. The Conference Volunteer Application form is available at www.hhregistration.com/volunteer, and the deadline for applications is December 7th. Please help fellow geographers in need by contributing to this program.

AAG Student Travel Funds
Your support of the AAG Student Travel Funds will help increase student participation in the AAG Annual Meeting and other professional conferences or symposia by helping defray their travel expenses. Three programs are available to assist students. The programs are, the AAG Community College Travel Grant, the AAG Disability Fund in Memory of Todd Reynolds, and the AAG International Geographic Information Fund.

Mel Marcus Fund for Physical Geography
Carry on the tradition of excellence and humanity in fieldwork espoused by Dr. Melvin G. Marcus with your gift. Grants awarded will foster personally formative participation by students collaborating with faculty in field-based physical geography research in challenging outdoor environments.

AAG International Education Funds
By contributing to this fund, you will support the work of the AAG's Center for Global Geography Education project, the My Community Our Earth initiative, and other educational programs promoting global understanding.

Marble Fund for Geographic Science
Support the William L. Garrison Award for Best Dissertation in Computational Geography for innovative research in the computational aspects of geographic science and the Marble-Boyle Undergraduate Achievement Awards for academic excellence and efforts to bridge geographic science and computer science.

AAG Geography and Human Rights Fund
This fund supports issues related to Geography and Human Rights. Please consider supporting the Geography and Human Rights initiative. The AAG Geography and Human Rights Clearinghouse promotes the application of geographic research to human rights issues by encouraging the exchange of scholarship, information and ideas. Ensure that the AAG can effectively monitor education policy and engage in public policy with your contribution. Your support means that we will maintain eyes, ears, and a voice on Capitol Hill and within the federal agencies whose policies directly impact the future of geography.

Contributions support the AAG Enhancing Diversity Award and activities designed to enhance diversity, promote inclusion, and broaden participation in the discipline. The Enhancing Diversity Award honors geographers who have led the way toward encouraging a more diverse discipline over the course of several years.

AAG Haiti Recovery and Reconstruction Fund
Help the AAG support the rebuilding of university geography programs in Haiti with institutional and human capital needs. This fund will also help subsidize membership in the AAG for interested Haitian geographers and their students through the Developing Regions Membership Program.

Commemorative Bricks
Personalize a commemorative brick that will become a permanent part of the effort to advance geography and a visible fixture of the AAG headquarters in Washington. Often, the friends and family of geographers may wish to recognize or memorialize their loved ones. Proceeds go to support AAG's endowment fund for geography's future.
