The AAG currently has over 11,000 members. Each year, the AAG collates membership data on a variety of topics, including educational background, sex, race/ethnicity, age, topical and area proficiencies, and employment.

An overview of AAG membership data with analysis of data by home country, gender, race/ethnicity, educational attainment, and employment type. The most current statistics are set alongside longitudinal data which reveal changes over time.

AAG Handbook 2016
The Association's annually-updated handbook including longitudinal data on overall membership, Annual Meetings, and Honors and Awards, plus most recent year data on speciality group membership.
In 2015, the AAG conducted a comprehensive survey of its members. The survey covered many areas, including AAG journals, the AAG Annual Meeting and the use of contingent faculty. The results painted a positive picture of the AAG and member satisfaction. A report of the survey results was presented at the 2016 Annual Meeting in San Francisco.
