AAG Annual Meeting 2022

The 2022 AAG annual meeting will be held in New York City from Friday, Feb. 25 - Tuesday, March 1, and will feature more than 6,000 presentations, posters, workshops, and field trips by leading scholars, experts, and researchers. Attendees including geographers, GIS specialists, environmental scientists, and other leaders will share and discuss the latest in research and applications in geography, sustainability, and GIScience. With thousands of different papers and presentations scheduled throughout the conference, you’ll find no shortage of activities that reflect your specific interests within the field of geography.

AAG Regions Connect

Reconnect with colleagues this fall, both in your regions and beyond at AAG Regions Connect: A Joint-Climate Forward Initiative. AAG is collaborating with the Applied Geography Conference and six AAG Regional Divisions for this experimental project to create a carbon-friendly meeting model. Participate in the Southwest, East Lakes/West Lakes, Pacific Coast, New England-St. Lawrence Valley, or Great Plains/Rocky Mountains division meetings or the Applied Geography Conference for in-person meetings and shared virtual content. This model is part of a larger effort at AAG to reduce carbon emissions at events, as called for by the AAG Climate Action Task Force.

June 5-9, 2022 - 2022 Symposium on Hurricane Risk in a Changing Climate

The main objective of this symposium is to foster communication among scientists, engineers, and practitioners in order to increase understanding of and better ways to deal with tropical cyclone risks. Risk is the likelihood of consequence from a hazard. For the purposes of this symposium, the hazards being considered are tropical cyclones (TCs). *Those who registered for 2020/2021 and did not cancel are automatically registered for 2022.
