Exhibitors/vendors who will be selling merchandise need to apply for a Taxpayer Identification Number and register as an Illinois Business. Exhibitors must complete and return a W9 form prior to the meeting, and an Illinois Business Registration Form must be filed with the State of Illinois. All exhibitors/vendors who will be selling merchandise are also required to obtain an Itinerant Merchant License. This license is required for merchandise sales and service businesses that do not own or rent space in the city (i.e. someone who sells or exhibits merchandise at a tradeshow or art fair).
