Enhancing Latin American GIS&T Capacity for
Innovation and Economic Development
The AAG has over the past four years been involved in discussions with colleagues at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Secretariat of the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Innovation in Panama (SENACYT) on the need for the creation of a Center for enhancing Latin American GIS&T capacity for innovation and economic development (the Center), in recognition of the roles of technology and innovation for improving the social and economic development of the Latin American and Caribbean regions.
