Teaching About Global Climate Change

This AAG educational program provides free, online professional development modules for geography and social studies teachers at middle and high school levels. The modules provide information and materials for teachers who are preparing to teach about global climate change.

Institute for the Integration of Research on Climate Change and Hazards in the Americas

Fifty-one scholars and practitioners from geography, communication studies, and a variety of other disciplines gathered from thirteen countries in the hemiphere to generate discussions on how to improve the way we understand the connection between climate change and hazards in the Americas. A set of interdisciplinary white papers, a clearinghouse, a research agenda, and forum are available on this wiki co-authored institute site.

AAG is Official Observer Organziation to the UN Conference of Parties (COP)

Geography and Climate Change Session Tracks at the AAG Annual Meeting

Climate change was one overarching focus of the AAG Annual Meeting in Washington, DC in 2010, with over 50 sessions running on two continuous tracks over the course of the conference. The meeting opened with the Presidential Plenary, “America’s Climate Choices.”
