NSF Director Rita Colwell to Keynote Centennial Meeting


The AAG’s Centennial Meeting will be packed with special sessions, events, and luncheons that feature a number of distinguished scholars on engaging and timely topics. Collectively, they will examine geography’s history, its evolution and future, and address the roles geography plays in both society and the academy.

Dr. Rita Colwell, Director of the National Science Foundation, will present the keynote address during the Opening Session, Sunday, 14 March. Dr. Colwell has spearheaded NSF’s efforts to boost science education, interdisciplinary research, and increased participation of women and minorities in science. She will address trends in funding and research for science at the NSF, and her perspective on the future
