Undertaken as part of the National Science Foundation's call for research associated with the September 11th, 2001 Terrorist attacks, this book builds upon an earlier AAG-coordinated, NSF-funded study of the geographical dimensions of terrorism. Areas covered include geospaital data and technologies infrastructure, root causes of terrorism, and vulnurability science and hazards research.

This book was written to be accessible by policy as well as research audiences, and has been designed for use also as a supplemental text for courses in geography and related related diciplines.
