Using the
CGGE modules for international collaboration
The CGGE modules feature activities that support
international collaboration by connecting geography classes in different
countries together in an online learning environment.
CGGE activities for international collaboration are
based in Moodle, an e-learning platform that is similar to online learning
products such as Blackboard and WebCT.
Access to the CGGE Moodle platform is free and hosted by the Association
of American Geographers.
At this time, the CGGE modules are in beta
form. This means that, while
the web pages for the conceptual frameworks and case studies are available for
use, they should be viewed as provisional drafts that eventually will undergo
further development. Because
the modules are in a testing phase (currently scheduled to run through December
2010), we are controlling access to the Moodle activities for purposes of
managing data collection and related research procedures.
During the beta testing, we are constructing an
international directory of undergraduate teachers who are interested in using
the modules for international collaborations. Eventually, this directory will be used to develop a
database that visitors to this website can search for potential teaching
partners.
Please contact CGGE Project Director Michael Solem
at msolem@aag.org if you are interested in learning
more about opportunities to participate in the beta testing phase, or simply
would like to be added to the CGGE directory to receive updates about the
project.
