ASIAN NATIONAL GEOGRAPHY ORGANIZATIONS
AUSTRALIA
Institute of Australian Geographers (IAG)
This professional association is the principal body representing geographers in Australia. Through its network of study groups, journals, and an annual meeting, the IAG promotes Australian geography, both in Australia and overseas.
CAMBODIA
Cambodian Research Development Institute (CDRI)
This independent Cambodian development policy research institute works to contribute to Cambodia’s sustainable development and the well-being of its people through the generation of high quality policy-relevant development research, knowledge dissemination and capacity building.
CHINA
Chinese Society for Geoinformatics
This society initiates and coordinates research in geoinformatics and related disciplines, holds several regional symposia each year, and promotes cooperation and coordination with related regional societies.
Chinese Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing
This society carries out academic, educational, and training activities and research in aerial photogrammetry and remote sensing; publishes journals dealing with aerial photogrammetry and remote sensing; and provides assistance to the public in these fields.
INDIA
Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)
ICAR serves as a repository of information and provides consultancy on agriculture, horticulture, resource management, animal sciences, agricultural engineering, fisheries, agricultural extension, agricultural education, home science and agricultural communication. It also coordinates agricultural research and development programs and to develop linkages at national and international level with related organizations to enhance the quality of life of the farming community.

Indonesian Forum for Environment (WAHLI)
WALHI is the largest forum of non-government and community-based organizations in Indonesia and works to promote social transformation, peoples’ sovereignty, and sustainability of life and livelihoods.
MALAYSIA
Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI)
MARDI implements contract R&D projects, and provides related technical and entrepreneurial development services relevant to food, agriculture and related service industries. MARDI’s technical services are in the form of advisory, consultancy, technical training, laboratory and quality assurance services, product and process development, and technology up-scaling.
SRI LANKA
Sri Lanka Council for Agricultural Research Policy (CARP)
The CARP’s main function is to develop a vibrant, effective and sustainable system of agricultural research, promoting socio-economic development in Sri Lanka.
THAILAND
Kenan Institute Asia
The Kenan Institute works to build sustainable competitiveness in Thailand and the Greater Mekong Sub-region. The Institute tries to accomplish this mission by developing multi-sector partnerships based on true development needs and mutual benefit between Asia and the United States through the cooperation of universities, government agencies and the private sector.
National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA)
NSTDA promotes research and development to strengthen Thailand’s sustainable competitiveness, complemented with technology transfer and the development of human resources, as well as the development of scientific and technological infrastructure.
